Vickie Ference - Engler-preneur Series

Family, faith, and friends is what I need to be known by because they have raised me into the individual I am.” - Vickie Ference

During her freshman year, Vickie Ference felt homesick in Lincoln and was looking for a way out. When she shared her feelings with mentor Tom Field, she told him she wished to move her family, pigs, and hometown, Ord, to Lincoln. While Tom knew that bringing Ord or her family wasn’t an option, he encouraged her to bring her pigs—and in that moment, Vickie realized she had the “okay” to be an entrepreneur.

Since then, Vickie has built her pork brand, Vickie’s ExtraORDinary Pork, and embarked on a new venture. During an internship in Ord, she took a leap of faith. She began the process of purchasing a storefront to house her pork business alongside a new wedding venture, Grateful Adventures.

That’s where her story started, but also where it’s going. Through her raw passion and unconditional care for others, Vickie brings a fearless quality to entrepreneurship and relationship-building that leaves a lasting impact on everyone she meets forever.
